Born
in Ft Bliss, Texas during the 2nd world war, I was raised in New Mexico
all my life. I have lived in a tri-culture inviorment all my life.
I learned my welding trade at UNM physical plant and classes also at UNM,
my blacksmithing skill working in a mine in southern Peru for two years
and from a group men in Taos county called the Blacksmiths Association
of Taos . Since 1977 I have operated Roadrunner Welding here in Questa
till now.
I have been married for 32 years, Christine and I have 4 girls and 1 son, where we llive amoung many cultures with many old and new customs. I am proud of my Spanish, Mexican, and Indian heritage and also so cherish others. I thank God for all that is available in this country. I am also a weaver of wool and rag rugs - of which I learned from my mother, Ida Martinez of Arroyo Hondo, NM and also the many weaver at the Martinez Hacienda in Taos |
