TED FONS

Ted has had a lifelong love affair with both fire and earth, In his youth he fought forest fires before moving on to his career as a geophysicist. Ted is now a full-time raku artist. His familiarity with both earth and fire has allowed him to exploit the intrinsic nature of the clay.

 

BOBBY PHILLIPS

Bobby Phillips' turned wood vessels are classically shaped and remarkably thin He uses a variety of woods including maple, walnut, locust, apple, osage orange, big leaf maple burl, as well as exotic woods, such as ebony, for trim. Some of the pieces feature carving, surface textuing and inlaid minerals

DENNIS GEORGE

A raku artist with a distinctive style, Dennis is inspired by the drama of fire and smoke, as well as the uniqely varied results of the medium. After a 20 year career in the Coast Guard, Dennis now pursues his career as a potter in Albuquerque.

Artist's Statement: I've learned a lot through my work. I combine various media - clay, beads, wire, wood, textile - odd components to assemble. At some point, I realize that they paralleled life, taking a variety of roles and piecing them together into a whole.

BELLA SUE MARTIN

Local artist Bella Sue Martin creates functional things of beauty in glass
and textile. Her fused glass jewelry is fashioned with dichroic glass,
reflecting one color and refracting another, drawing the eye deep into the brilliantly hued layers.

 

LARRY FAVORITE

 The inlay of turquoise into ironwood sculptures produces visually compelling and tactilely responsive works of art. Larry is known for his sinuous bear and bison totems, as well as boxes, vessels and vases.

DORIS BEWLEY

Doris loves producing functional art. Her Matisse-like figures can be found on pillows, book covers and wine glasses. it's a wonderful way to own original art that doesn't necessarily hang on the wall.

LINDA LOU RANDOLPH

Linda's work is characterized by a lightness of spirit and whimsical eye, running the gamut from mosaic boxes to painted furniture.

The hallmark of Silver Hawk's jewelry creations is her unique silver and copper work, along with a breathtaking variety of gems, including topaz, amethyst, rhodocrosite, moldarite, sapphire, garnet, tourmaline, moonstone, peridot and many others.
