Seascape

In the middle of the storm
The tree fell.
Morning revealed its tortured trunk
broken in two.
Inside the dolphins
held captive through the years,
sang with joy
as the skill of the sculptor
freed their sinuous bodies.

Now,
When the tide is high
And the sea shines silver in the moonlight
the dolphins flick their tails
and dive,
making silver rainbows in the darkblue sky.
