Artists StatementAs I studied the smallest parts of grasses, trees, and flowers, I realized what a tremendous artist God is, to create such beauty in nature. I feel an artistic
drive to express my scientific and artistic talent, in his name.
I began carving cedar in 1993. I enjoy the physical effort of carving with knives, chisels, and mallet. The cedar I carve is a beautiful wood, aromatic, with rich crimson and white colors, shaped by wind, water, and the passage of time. Spiritually, to me carvings are prayers, and the cedar keeps me connected to heaven and earth.Man and Woman, Surfing thru LifeDaniel L. Rael
