Technology at Chamisa Mesa
One of the more popular tools of the lab is the cd burner which enables the students to create their own cd's from programs they have created, including their own music, graphics and writings.
The computer is one of the tools we use in the curriculum. We are connected to the Internet with eleven computers (eight iMacs and three G3's) and each student is encouraged to have an email account, but whether or not they have one, all students have access to the WWW.
In the Computer Literacy class students are taught the basics of computer use, including typing, word processing, drawing, database, basic html and web page development. Students become competent in using the Internet and the World Wide Web for research.
We also have a class in computer programming which includes HTML web page design and basic programming.
This year we are publishing our year book and several students are publishing their own books. The students have also been working on the school web page developing sites of their own interests.

Chamisa Mesa is an all Macintosh house and with these tools our students are able to research, write, create and edit a wide range of different projects.

For the first time, our students are able to create their own yearbook totally in-house, as well as develop and publish their own books, movies and exciting web pages.
A special thanks to Stewart Farley for making this possible.
We also use a technology called book.
