I am 64, medically retired and enjoying life with my wife Joyce (62) who cannot retire, as she is a housewife! We have been happily married for 37 years on the 16th July, 1997 and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. We have been blessed with five children, four girls and a boy (we wanted one of each make but things didn't work out... :-) Our clan in return have given us 12 grandchildren to date!!
Before retiring, I worked as a Communications Officer in the MoD(Navy) for 22 years, after a varied selection of jobs, in libraries, buses and a 10 yr stint in the RAF. I have a 'B' class licence for Ham radio which means I can only broadcast on the 2meter band limiting me to more or less local calls . The internet far exceeds that distance and I haven't the need to pass any exams to use it!
My equipment isn't 'top of the range' but is adequate. I have an Acer/American Mega 80386, 640K, 3200K ext, 1804K XMS, EGA ATI, MsDos V6:20 - and if that means anything to anyone please let me know!!
Hobbies, apart from the clan, are very amateur photography. Philately, reading, listening to good music, church activities where I compose, edit and dispatch the church magazine (if anyone is interested please visit our Web site on: http://homepages.enterprise.net/mtm. For Email it's npcc@enterprise.net. I am a prison visitor and compile a quarterly newsletter for the inmates, mainly of Dartmoor (Princetown) Prison, reputedly England's toughest! I spend quite a considerable time at the computer keyboard. Both Joyce and I enjoy watching athletics and motor racing. Joyce enjoys tennis :-( I also manage a boy's under 11 football squad which of course entails training evenings and Saturday afternoon matches during the season.
