In November 2000, I retired from my job in San Francisco, and my husband and I reluctantly returned to Washington, D.C. Our son and daughter and my husband's brother and his family live in this area. Most of my working career--about 36 years--was spent as a librarian in federal government. My last job was as library director for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in San Francisco. Before that I ran libraries the Department of the Treasury and the Executive Office of the President in Washington, D.C.
Since returning to Washington, my husband and I have spent most of our waking hours fixing up our 90-year-old house after 9 years of occupancy by groups of tenants. I have also begun doing volunteer work at my church as time permits.
Interests include reading, knitting, and following public policy, especially economic policy.
