Kids/Grandkids: 2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, 3 grandsons. No granddaughters, no hope of any. What we have is all we get.
Life before retirement: Survived living with the same spouse since 1948 and raising two children before venturing back into the work force. Worked as a human resources administrator for an insurance brokerage until I was offered a reasonably good bribe for not showing up any more (not a golden parachute; just a small cushion).
Lived on a 42-foot sailboat for almost 4 years until we had to move ashore. Boat has shrunk to an 11-foot sailing dinghy, but we still have fun sailing.
Now I revel in photography, travel, calligraphy, reading, very minor desktop publishing (friends and family only), Zoowalking, bicycling, gardening, gourmet cooking, and, when I get a chance, loafing. Not enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do, and I have resigned myself to the knowledge that no matter how much time I have, I will never, ever, get it all done. But it's fun trying.
